Digital Schools Releases 2008 School Services-Driven Software PDF  | Print |  E-mail

Salinas, CA – March 5, 2008:  Digital Schools LLC, with offices in Illinois and California,  announces the release of  2008 functionality to benefit the k-12 and higher education sectors.  The new functionalities complement the Digital Schools Suite which provides position control, budgeting, and payroll capabilities to clients of Digital Schools of California.

New functionalities include:

DS Reports employs a distinctive filter enabling Digital Schools of California clients to ‘build their own” reports and to filter all pre-formatted reports (available through the Digital Schools Suite) by any field in the database while saving results into excel, word or PDF files. “To the best of our knowledge there isn’t another report capability in the market that provides schools districts with the report development flexibility,” said Bryan Banks, Director of Technology. “The filter, in development for some time, responds to specific district requests to have a unique capability enabling them to fulfill increasingly greater reporting requirements.”
DS Retro Pay integrates with the Suite to provide automated calculation and generation of payroll adjustments associated with retroactive salary changes.  Senior Developer Peter Fry comments, “The RetroPay functionality greatly reduces the time and effort involved in completing retroactive changes to employee compensation due to union negotiations, employee professional growth, and any other event that requires compensation changes for past payrolls.”  He explained that with sophisticated filtering and disbursement options, DS Retro Pay eliminates nearly all manual calculations associated with these changes.
DS Access provides District employees the real time ability to access their specific information. The information available is configured to the specifications of District management and can include emergency contact, vacation and leave time, deductions, sick time and more. Banks noted that this functionality reduces costs associated with employee requests for information as well as strengthening employee relations. “These new releases provide functionalities that bring significant benefit to users,” said Banks. “DS Reports, particularly, is extremely unique in its ability to allow Districts to develop and generate reports specific to their needs. Current market capabilities do not allow for such flexibility.”
Digital Schools corporate offices are located in Northbrook, IL; its subsidiary Digital Schools of California is located in Salinas California with an additional location in Stockton, California. The Company serves a large number of k-12 Districts with its services-driven software. The company is viewed as the market’s most comprehensive resource measurement and management offering.
